Next Level Finger Painter

Paolo Troilo, was born in Italy, where he studied Architecture and Modern Literature at the Florence University, then in Rome at the European Institute of Design. After working as an advertising agent for several international advertising agencies, such as Saatchi & Saatchi and Arnold Worldwide, as Art Director first, then as Creative Director. The Ad Exec/Architect turned self taught artist has been making waves the last few years with his striking and emotional finger paintings.

Paolo uses his fingers as a means to do away with and abandon the common tools, thus allowing him to really give himself over to his immensely passionate and powerful works of art. 

Explaining his reason for lack of colour, Paolo describes colours as  "....an illusion, misleading, traitors. White and black are open doors.”

“Old generations always says that the new generations don’t understand the worth of life because they don’t have something urgent to fight for. But old generations were new generations and new generation will became old generations. Our era is a sneaky bitch, a silent and poisoned escalation covered by the rumors of loud media-voices. We’re now fighting for ourselves, we are our flags.”

His work is deep and methodical, using anatomy as the groundwork for his story telling, mainly focusing on the the duality of the human condition. 

Paolo's work has been exhibited around the globe in places such as, San Francisco, Miami, Istanbul, Paris, Madrid, Milan, Rome, Florence, Berlin, Basel, Singapore and Tel Aviv. He currently lives and works in Milan, Italy.
